On my VAI there is a tag on the front of the left side axle housing. It tells the date, which the tractor was made,or the date which that piece was cast.

You could have a VA,VAC14,VAC13 or a VAI. All of these models were availible w/ a wide front end. A couple of pictures will help alot.Is the width of the front ajustable? If it is, it's a VAC13, or 14. If not then its a VA, or a VAI. to tell those two apart, look at the front axle. If it's a solid 1.75x3., or 2.x3. you have a VAI. If its 1.25 thick, it's a VA. Also the shifting pattern on a VAI is what called a "highway pattern" or an "H" pattern. If first and second gear are side by side, its a VA. Hope this helps....
