I have a problem with the three pt. hitch not wanting to work properly. I believe that I have a leak in the hydraulic reservoir, because I have hydraulic oil leaking out of my starter. Is there supposed to be oil in the same area as the flywheel? This is where the hydraulic oil is collecting. The hitch will raise, only when it is first stared, but once it is up it will stay up without leaking down? Can anybody help me solve my problem?

The 411 has the case-o-matic system which is torque converter drive with a hand lever for direct drive. There is no traditional clutch system in this tractor. The torque tube holds
16 quarts of hydraulic fluid and yes the flywheel
is partialy emersed in fluid.
Sounds like you may have too much hyd fluid in the
torque tube if it is as high as the starter. As for your 3 pt check to make sure your limit stops are set correctly. You may also have a problem with the interlock that keeps the hitch from coming down. It is the block that the line goes into.

Sounds like you have a bad input shaft seal at the front of the shuttle case, which is part of the torque tube that the hydraulic pump sucks from. Suprised you don't have oil all over your clutch yet. Time to break her in half and fix things.
