Whenever the powershift is in the 1 position it will pull the engine down. If you push in on the clutch it will idle normally. PS 2 and 3 appear to operate normally. Reverse will also power the engine down. If you operate the tractor it jerks to a stop when you push in the clutch. I have checked the two bottom spools on the powershift housing and they appear to be free. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Lwood, my 1370 will grunt momentarily when I push down on the clutch, but will come right back to normal idle speed. In cold weather, if I'm moving then push the clutch, it will almost throw me through the front window, the mechanic told me about a "gear brake" I'm guessing that is why it does it. I guess I'll have to read the 1270 service book I have to see if it says anything about it

Our 970, 1070, and 2470 all do this too. Cold oil doesn't flow fast enough, and when the inching spool is depressed, too many clutchs are engaged. We're supposed to adjust the clutches when it gets cold, and then again in warm weather. But I don't know anybody who goes through all that trouble.
