My Dad (lives in NW Iowa) bought a '57 311 in '61 and still has it. It had a 3x14 mounted plow. It has a wide front end. He put it on the baler (a 14T JD), and me in the driver seat. I was 9 years old. Dad plowed all the ground for 100 acres of corn for 3 years, then traded his 'G' JD for a 3020 and a 4 bottom plow. Then we ran both plows for several years.
He still uses it for grading the driveway. It could use a new battery and other little parts, but otherwise runs good.

I have a 311 roundnose and just down the road from Doug in Indiana. I use mine everyday, from mowing with a finish mower and 6' tiller. Has no problems picking up my gigantic bush hog. Bounces the front a little bit if I hit a hole or two. Didn't lift real good until I put new o ring and retaining ring. To replace the old leather seal. It works great now and is real fast compared to what it use to do.

Hi ,, Ive got a 300 roundnose;; It's got a single front wheel. This is the only one like this that I've seen,( but I don't get out of the house much!!!) The Eagle has enough power to pick up everything that I've hooked to it. Mower , blade , graderbox, etc. Doug

, Hey, I got the answer for you. I asked this spring how much lift it had and some one told me 26 inches...lots of help. I went ahead and bought the 6 foot bush hog and it yanks if of the groung like a champ. Pounds I don't know but its pretty darned good. I think the smaller tractors may have a smaller ram inside acording to the parts book. Mine is the Regular 311.

I have three of those 300's. One is a round nose one is a square nose diesel and a square nose gas tractor. I use them all for choring and never had a problem with lifting anything.

We used to move 2000 lb round bales with our VAC with a 3 point bale spear.

Sometimes you had to keep the front end of the tractors downhill in order to get the bale off the ground (and keep the front end of the tractor on the ground)

You learned to drive with the brakes and having the front end off the ground. Be careful you can break the front end if the bale falls off while the front end is up and she comes down really fast and hard.

I own a 300b but I need to put it back together. a 300 is just super-sized VAC.

Hey CB, its more than a super sized VAC. We had a VAC in the past also but we pulled three 14's in the hills with our 300 plus live power. Used it on the baler pulling the wagon on the hills. Best little tractor we had around. Wiish I could find a 350 to restore.

I don't know how much weight my 311 will lift, but it won't pull the front wheels off the ground.
