Case made several changes to the sheet metal for the VAC. Does anyone have a listing as to what years or the various VA series that were interchangable or the same?
Next is the serial numbers for the VA series anywhere other than the dash mounted data plate Thank You H. L. Staples--Mcloud Oklahoma

The sheet metal change came in the year 1951. Case changed the steering column, widened the instrument panel (as well as the back part of the hood), and changed the front grill. VA's prior to 1951 have interchangeable sheet metal. VA's from 1951 & later have interchangeable sheet metal. I believe the side panels are interchangeable across all years. Someone told me the serial number was also stamped in the engine block, but I have yet to find it on my VAC's.

Although the side panels look the same between the model changes, the post '51 panels are a little taller than those before '51. I should know, I tried an earlier panel on my '53 VAS and it didn't fit.

The quickest way to tell side panels is 51 and later have tool box on right earlier ones have tool box opening on left

I have a 1951 VAC with the tool box on the left. Either its had the side panels changed sometime or you're mistaken.

According to my parts book after serial number 5570000 (1951) the tool box is on the right. If I had done a better job of studying the book the above post might not have been necessary
