I recently purchased a 300 LPG that seemed in good shape. It is now growling rather loudly when the clutch is in and the gears are difficult to shift. I figure I know what it is, but suggestions are welcome. What is the value of a 300?

I'm guessing by 'clutch in' means your foot pressing the clutch petal. If so My suspicion places the problem being the throughout bearing is bad. As for worth I can't say, but I do think a 300 is a neat looking Case.

Would agree that the throw out bearing is bad if it only growls with the clutch in. The value of your Case depends upon the condition it is in as a work horse, they seem to have very little collectors value. In really good shape somewhere between $1,200 and $2,000 provided everything works. Of course this depends upon where in the country you are, and being able to find someone who wants it. Up here in the pacific NW smaller tractors usually bring more money than in the midwest or south. Something about fools and their money soon departed.
