I have a Case 430 that I recently changed points on .The man at the parts store told me to gap them at 25,000 but the tractor is still missing . Do I need to close the gap more or open it more to smooth it out?It is a four cylinder gas tractor.

Points are .020" plugs are .025" You should find a local mechanic to give you a hand. Timing is set with a test light because timing starts to advance as soon as this engine starts. You can only use a timing light if checking total timimg advance at full throttle. Hope that helps, Dennis.....

I suggest a parts manual to compare part numbers of what pieces are different. New oil seal between 4 speed and torque tube is a must. You'll be upset if you have to do it later (and you will). Best wishes, Dennis..... .
