I have recently purchased a 400 Case-o-matic. It appears that the three pt. hydraulic lift arms need to be adjusted. I attached to a three pt hitch bushhog and the lift arms would only raise appproximately 6" off the ground. Is there an adjustment for this condition which will make the rear lift go higher. I have checked the fluid in the rear differential and the fluid level is corrct.
Also on the clutch engaging mechanism there appears to be a large amount of wear, which results in an impossible task of smoothe starts. Is there a re-build kit for this valve/linkage assembly?

Sounds like your hydraulic filter is plugged and should be changed. It is located under you battery and gas tank on the right hand side as you sit on the tractor, four bolts hold a plate, which the filter is contained. Caseomatic is touchy and hard to control when not at a idle. Let clutch out at idle and then accelerate. Linkage is prob'ably worn. Do not need to replace value body. Your 400 is acually a 400B and if norrow front is a 411B frist 400 are much bigger and did not have case-o-matic

Joe Did that solve the lift problem. The part number of filter is G13113 which can be gotten at any Case IH dealer. If you have any other Questions please contact me at hinesd@pa.net.

I thought mine was a 411B based on the serial number. It has a wide front end. Does that mean that it is a 400B.
