Wondering if you can put injuectors out of a 2870 in this 451 and if so do you have to change the injector lines. Would you be able to get enough fuel out of the stock pump. Any suggestions on what kind of power you could get with this combination would be appreciated.

1270 injectors and pump specs will make at least 185 hp.

How do you figure that 1270 settings will make 185 horse? The 12's were rated at 127 horse or 135 horse, so how would setting the pump to factory 1270 specs generate 185 hp? Wouldn't it make the roughly 130 horse the 1270 does since it is the same engine bore and stroke and pump and injectors.

You can turn the fuel screw up on any inline bosch pump. I have a 1175 with a 504 from a 1570 putting out around 350hp thats a guess because my dyno only goes to 300 and i can peg it out. You just need to know what to do to the pump. Thad

I understand you can get more horse by turning up the pump but if you set the 1175 to the 1270 specs how do you get 185? I think both tractors use the A451BDT, 451 cubes and turboed.

You wont get 185 at stock 1270 specs. Thad

The 674 CID Scania engine in a 2870 used a larger bore Lucas nozzle if I remember correctly. Will not fit in the Roosa-Master pencil nozzle hole.

The 4 1/8 and 4 3/8 bore engines use the same nozzle.
The 4 5/8 bore engines use a nozzle with a spray pattern a few degrees less due to the larger bore. The hole sizes and number of holes are the same between the Roosa-Master pencil nozzles used in Case engines. Nozzles will not change power.
