I collect/buy/sell Ford N's. I was offered a 1947
CASE "VT" (I see a VC on your site, but no VT?!!) No big deal, I hope! That's why I am asking you CASE guys. This tractor is near showroom condition! The engine purrs strong. When this beautiful machine started up, it cranked and started pronto. I felt the engine when I first arrived, just to know if it had previously been running ...cool to the touch! The asking price is $3500.00 What do you think?

The VT number that you may have gotten may be from the engine block. Most vac castings are VT148, 149, etc. If it is a casting number, then its likely a VA/vac.

As mentioned here already, there was the V series and then the VA series. Never heard of a VT or a VAT. If it is a '47 then it must be a VA. What kind of engine is in it, flathead or overhead valve? Any serial tag on the dash? In any event, I would say that it is overpriced unless it is some very rare version of a VA.

Should be! But, who's paying those prices??? I've seen some beautifully restored tractors go dirt cheap.

V series ran from 40-42. Had V, VC and VO designations. VA series started in 42 and ran through early 57. Had VAC, VAI, VAO, VAIW, VAH and VAS variants. Check SN. first 2 digits, subtract 4, that will be the year. If 47, no 3 point Eagle hitch and no lift hydraulics. $3500 sounds high for a worker, may be appropriate for a collector.
