I just started tearing apart my 2390 rear end to fix the brake linings that came apart in it.

1) why does the linings come apart on these? I have replaced worn clutch and brake linings in other equipment, but not because they came apart.
2) if it was a Case problem, did they rectify it?
3) What about getting linings refitted to the old plates instead of buying new? Who does it
4) anything else to look at or replace why the rear end is apart?

thank you
tremayne

The wrong oil theory I do not beleive. The wrong glue, pad, or process for adhereing the lining I would beleive. My pto works as far as I know (never used it). The pto housing is out & I have heard that when you have problems with them, it is good to change all of the linings- so that is what I am going to do. Bad thing though is I found 1 ring gear bolt missing, found the washer under the hyd screen. Can't find the bolt. Might have vacuumed it up during the summer when I first tore it apart.
