We have a 930 tractor with a 6 speed transmission and can't figure out where to check the lubricant level in the transmission. We have another 930 with an 8 speed and there is a plug right behind the bellhousing on the left side of the tractor. If it makes any difference it is a western tractor, we were told by the people who sold it to us, and it has a cab on it. Figured it might be in a different place seeing as how the transmission is totally different from the 8 speed. Thanks in advance for any help you can give us!

Hydraulic and transmission/rear end are separate compartments. To check transmission remove right battery.Back in there you will find a level plug. You fill it by removing the breather which is under the foot plate on the left side of the tractor.

Bill Don't it have a dipstick where you fill it right under the fuel tank. My 1030 does, the hydraulic oil and transmission oil is all the same, right. Jerrie

we have a 1030 too, and it has the dipstick like you mention. This 930 has a plug that you pull and fill to the top for the hydraulic in the back, but I wasn't sure if the hydraulic from there gets into the transmission or not. It is different from all the other tractors here. We have a couple 400s, a 630, 730, 830 Case-o-matic, the 8-spd 930, this 6-spd 930, and the 1030. Except for the 830, they all have seperate places to check the level in the transmission. I just ain't sure about this 6 speed.

Bill I know that it has three drain plugs, but I think that when they are filled to the proper level the oil flows through passages between the hydualic, differential and transmisson, but maybe you had better check farther to be sure. Any time I have a question I go talk to the man that owned the CASE dealership when these tractors were sold or find an old mechanic that used to work on them on a regular basis. Don't take my word on it and burn something up, parts are too expensive. Jerrie
