I'm finally about ready to finish up my Case 311 roundnose propane tractor. Allthough I don't have an operators manual for it. Does anyone know what the correct starting procedure is for a propane tractor? Thank You in advance

Set the throttle at about 1/8 to 1/4 open (slightly above idle), open vapor valve, pull choke fully out, wait about 5 seconds, turn key to on and crank. The LP takes several more cranks than a gasoline engine (6 to 10) to get the vapor to the carb and hit. As soon as it fires, push choke fully in. An LP engine sounds great right out of the gate.
I run mine on vapor for light duty all the time but for heavy pulling, open the liquid and close the vapor. Cold weather usage should be on liquid after warming up the coolant in order to avoid fuel starving or frosting.
When turning off the engine, be sure to close the tank valves and let the engine run out of fuel and then turn off the ignition. This relieves pressure off the system downstream from the tank.
