Removed the whole power shift to check everything out. Both c-1 clutchs had the center hub tore out. Everything else looked good. Other than new C-1 clutches, seals and gaskets would you recommend replacing any other parts? Thank you

I would check the oil distributor hub assemblies and rings. Dad's 970 was worn bad enough, the rear ring pushed out far enough to let oil leak out.
I can honestly say we have never had those C2&C3 bolts break. Not even on the 2470's. I still plow terraces with my 1973 1070, through some pretty gummy ground, and those are the original bolts put in at the factory. I just don't know what to tell you about that.

Wade Should Replace C1 & C4 Pistions Now, Use 2290 Pistions & Seals, New One Are Much Better. While You Are There Fix The Cause Of c1 Plates Going Bad. Should Rebuild Power Shift c2& c3 Clutches. Bore & Drill Out C2 &C3 Pistion Carrier To 7/16 Allen Head Grade 8 Bolts & New Bellview Springs & New Pistions. It Is Expensive Butt, In Years To Come It Will Be Worth It. BRENT P.S. E Mail Back If Needed

I'm not Jim, but I would reccomend replacing the bolts in the c2 - c3 clutch assembly while you have it out, they have a reputation.

I beleive you can bore those clutch pack bolt holes to a 7/16" rather than the 3/8" hole and pretty much guarantee you won't shear them off. If they are the ones you are talking about. Had a 1270 shear them and the mechanic put a pack from a 94 series in and I think it now has 1/2" bolts.
