I have a 1968 530 case and the metal tag on the side of the tractor says model 531. Can anyone tell me info about what makes this tractor different from other 530's.

The third digit of the model # is the style of the tractor thus 531 being a row crop. If it was an orchard model or high clearance model the third digit would be maybe a 2, 3, or even a 4(I think), don't quote me exactly, but it works something like this maybe someone else has the eact designations of all the different models. Is this tractor a diesel? I have a 431 with a diesel engine and the adjustable front end, its called a GP model. I dont think anyone would go to the trouble of switching it over to the wide front end.
