Recently purchased 1370 from dealer .
Did not notice it has no park all else works well. It was all tested on the dyno and hudralic output but they failed to mention this item.
How to fix and does this require splitting tractor?
Dealer less than cooperative

If it has a park brake there will be a hand lever on the floor on the left side of seat. If it has a park lock it will be on 4 speed shifter. The park lock can be repaired thru the rear after the pto housing is removed. The park brake can be adjusted. There is large set screw on top of rear end. Turn screw down 1 turn and see if that helps. Also the lever can be turned to tighten the brake. If brake is wore out both axels and housings will have to come off and differential will have to be rolled out the rear. If this is the case consider a microlok. They were available from CASE. Stan

Just was wondering what light you could shed on repairing park lock on power shift. My 1270 is not parking:( Goes into park position but does not feel like it is moving park gear. Is it a shifting fork type thing?? Easy to access and repair? Thanks, John

The early 1370 has a band around the differential that wears out very fast if the park prake is not released. Later 1370s have a park Pall(sp) that can get broken if the trans linkages are not correct and the clutch is released with the tractor not fully out of gear. The rear end must be drained and the PTO assembly removed to access this. If this is the problem it should be addressed soon as the proken pieces have the potential of damaging gears in the rear end

I will look around for loose linkage and disconnected linkage. Since there is NO resistance to shifting into park and nothing feels like it is connected to the “park function.

Regarding early or late version.
Shift lever has 1,2,3,4 & R
Power shift is 1,2,3, &R
DOES THIS TELL WHAT VERSION IT IS? Or do I need to check trans #s?

QUESTIONS – Depending on the version:
1. HOW difficult is this to fix?
2. Do both come out thru the PTO cover plate?
2. How many hours to fix - JUST AN IDEA /thanks
3. What is required / DOES IT MEAN SPLITTING THE TRACTOR OR REMOVING THE AXLES? You know things too heavy for the average guy to lift etc..
4. IF it is the pall type can all the pieces be removed from the case thru the PTO cover plate ACCESS? Or what needs to happen to replace that item?

I’m Just trying to figure out whether I can do it or it requires trip to the dealer? I have a lot of hand tools and am somewhat intelligent, but no way to yank axles or really big and heavy items.
But then I have limited funds too.
THANKS!
