Mains will be rebabbited to semi finished. Will have to line bore to size. Or take the shims out and hope for the best. New rebilt semi bearings sets are $175.00 on your cores.

So does that mean that I can grind the crank and just take shims out because that does not sound right

To help clarify.

If the shims are removed or swapped for a smaller shims (check with micrometer) on the mains, this would reduce the size for the 10 thousand you are looking for. So basically the circle gets smaller to compensate for the warn crank.

Now the worry is, if too much is remove, say 20 thousands, the bearing may become egg shaped and thus the crank only rides on the top and bottom of the barring and the oil escapes on the sides.

But this only a low rpm tractor and this should not be a problem. (my 2 cents)
