Decrease rear tire size on 930CK DSL?

On our 930CK diesel (eight speed) we have 23.1 x 30 rear tires. What consequences or problems with changing these to 18.4 x 34 tires? The overall height is within 1 inch so the tractor's height would not change much and therefore the speed and RPM's should not change much either. We have found a local parts place which can get the rims and wheel hubs. What else should we consider?

Thanks for your thoughts

If it's a six speed you will have to change the whole wheel not just the rims and I sure it's the same for the eight speed.

Yea, you can change them. My 1030 has standard 18.4 x 34 rear tires. Why do you want to change? I'd be interested in your 23.1 x 30 tires & wheels. Let me know. Jeff.

Hi Jeff:

We would estimate that these tires are at least 90% worn with lots of age cracks etc.

What advantage would there be for staying with the larger tire? The smaller tires a considerably less.

Thanks for your interest

When I bought my 930CK 8 speed I had the factory option of either size that you mentioned.
