When you install them, spray them with "never-seeze" so you can get them out again in the future.

Those stupid pencil injectors are a pain in the rear! Almost impossible to get out without bending them. Tried using the Case puller but couldn't get them out so I just used a pry bar.

The notches are for a puller. My brother says that they are worthless. I use a pry bar and a pair of vise grips. We have only seen one injector that we couldn't pull out. We ended up removing the head and driving it out with a hammer and punch.

Snap-On and possibly others sell a rolling head pry bar with a taper on one end and a 90 degree cam like foot on the opposite end.I have used two of these on opposite sides of the injector and succeeded on every try so far. You will probably have to use some spacers under the heel of these tools as the injector moves up. In very severe cases it may be necessary to add leverage by sliping a piece of 3/8 or 1/2 inch pipe on the tools as a cheater. Good Luck/
