our 2290 runs for a little while then misses hard, took the fuel line off and the fuel comes out slow. Is there a screen or filter in the tank? or what else could it be?

Empty the tank and slide back,I think you can get the sending unit and line out with out completely removing the tank.Wash or blow the dirt from the sides of the tank, cause it will be tight, and be careful getting the tank loose, that fiberglass could be touchy.

Yes there is a filter sock on the end of the suction tube. Pull the fuel sender out and throw it away.
