Hello all! I am having problems with the transmission on my VAC. It gets stuck in 4th gear, and when I go to shift it out, the shifter pops out of the forks, and hence it stays in 4th gear. I have taken it apart and the forks look alright, and the end of the shifter stick doesn't look worn out. Is there something I am overlooking? I am new to Case tractors and am still learning about them. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Couldn't help when you first posted. I just had mine stick in 3rd gear. This was my first time to take it for a ride. It has been torn down about year sence I got it. The interlock pin had worn into the shifter fork causing it to swell the shaft and it stuck in the casting where it slides. If you shift yours in 4th while you have it out you can look along the side where the lock pin rides and see if there is a groove in the rod. Hope this helps to narrow your problem down.
