Got a 1030 ,can not turn the pto off .handle well not go down ,need help.

The clutch plates are probably warped. Were you using the pto on a heavy load prior to this problem? If the pto clutch was out of adjustment( pto lever pulling up very easy, not much snap) the plates will slip unnoticed. This leads to heat and clutch plate warpage. Only resolve it to remove pto housing and renew pto plates and brake pad.

I just got the tractor and have never had the pto on anything . Tractor sat for 2 1/2 years as the owner pasted away. wife could tell me very littil about the tractor.

sounds like we have a lot in common bought mine the same way under the same circumstances this tractor also sat for 2 1/2 to 3 yrs due to the death of her husband

Richard I am having the same problem also the rockshaft won't move but i have full pressure on the remotes may be some one out there can help

Wayne, a spool in the 3 point control valve is probably stuck. Access to valve is to either pull seat, or look under platform from the right side just ahead of the rear axle,and just below platform. The control valve has a plate on its side held by 4 bolts, remove bolts. Three bores hold poppet piston in rear, check ball in middle, lowering poppet piston in front bore. Either piston could be seized. Remove , polish,reinstall checking for free movement. Change your hydraulic filter.
