I have a 47 Vac with a mounted 2-14 plow. The tail wheel axle has broken, does anyone have a used replacement?

Bob, out of curiousity how does your VA handle that plow? I tried to pull a 2-14 3pt plow with my '47 VA this last year and couldn't do it. I was plowing what I would call black clay with two sets of weights. How deep are you plowing?
Thanks Ross

Yes, it does real well, I plow in 2nd gear, and can go in 3rd gear in light soil. I don't have weights or fluid. I plow about 7 0r 8 inches deep. I've never tried to plow heavy clay soil, but I think it would go pretty well in 1st. A mounted plow puts lots of down-force on the rear wheels and pulls easier than a pull-behind.
One small note, I don't farm with this tractor, just demonstration plowing, however, my dad farmed 136 acres with a VAC right after the war, and did everything. The plow is one that he bought with his tractor. Sadly his tractor went to the junk yard.

Bob, There is a Tractor yard near me, I do not know if they have anything like that, but you could give them a call. The place is "Jerry Everitt & Used Tractor Parts" Volga, Iowa phone is 563-767-2175. I"ve gotten a part or two from them for my VAC

Where are you located? I'm near Manchester, you can't be too far away.

I know where it is, have been there a couple times, I'll give them a call, otherwise I'll have to have an axle made. Thanks
