Where can I buy the sealing "O" rings for a VAC?
I have tried the case dealer with no luck. Also were could I buy the thermostat that fits inside the upper radiator hose on the VAC. Case dealer says no longer avaiable.

Thanks

Sleeve o-rings old nr VT3375, cross-ref nr G46909. The G nr is an active Case p/n, any Case dealer should be able to confirm the nr & order it for you.

The old bellows type t-stat p/n G10235 (148 - 153 deg) is apparently obsolete and I haven't been able to find a Case substitute. The service manual shows the 148-153 deg t-stat and on the same page lists the operating temp for gas as 150-175 degs.

I bought a 160 deg amot type common to automotive engines and changed the hose from 1-3/4" to 2" to adapt for the wider o.d. of the t-stat flange. The flange could probably be trimmed to fit the original hose but be sure to retain the vent hole or drill a new one.

Joe:

That's what I did. I found a Stant t-stat at the discount store, and rolled the flange against my grinding wheel a bit and it fit just fine!

Ditto on the 'cut her down to fit'...works good.
Here's another thought: The 160 deg. specification was set back during the time of alcohol-based antifreeze which will boil away at much more than 160. I use 180 deg. thermostats with ethylene-glyclol antifreeze and get better performance, especially in the winter...like Smokey Yuick said; "Hot water and cold air makes horsepower!".
