Hello,

I'm not exactly a case expert so I thought I'd post and see if any of you are! I have the opportunity to buy a restored 1941 Case SC. This model has the exhaust going through the hood. It also has no ribs on the block and is refered to a "smooth block model" I believe. Can any of you tell me what it's worth and how rare it is. Any other details. I don't plan on keeping it I'll be reselling it. Thanks, Mark

Better look the block over for cracks. A lot of the SC blocks crack behind the carburetor, when people forget and leave water in them. The smooth block ones are rarer because they were only made for a few years. The value of the tractor depends on the seller's definition of "restored". Does it have new internal engine parts or just a new paint job and new external parts? I doubt that it's worth more than $1,600, but location has a lot to do with the value.

Value would depend on the extent of the restoration. The center exhaust does make it more collectable than a later SC. If you could give more detailed information someone could give you an approx. value.
