Sorrey fellows but my western special had later transmission with over/under and foot clutch. No 3 point. Swinging drawbar. Comfort king. Was my dealer wrong when he called it a western special?

If you had an 8 speed & the model number on the tag ends with a 2, it's a western special, my 930 is actually a "932"

Just noticed, you said 1030...don't thing 1030 s were ever made with 6 speed and chain drive. They all came after the 930 confort king. ( get on from the front- fuel tank back of seat)

That pretty well sums it up, I have a 930 western that has a wide swing drawbar so that eliminates the chance of having a 3 pt hitch, several times I wish it had 3 pt.

the 930 western special has a 6 speed tranny and a hand clutch. I had one. It also has the old style chian drive in the rear end. mine had over 5000 pounds of cast weight on it. It also had the swing arm stearing simmilar to the old dc only with power assist.
