The other day the tranny in my 1070 was really choppy, then non of the reverse gears worked and when I let off the clutch the tractor started to kill. The forword gears are really jerky and when I push in the clutch the tractor comes to a complete stop. Fluid is good, its a power shift tranny. I dont know much about case tractors, aany help would be appreciated. Thanks!

check steering pump!! the powershift valve uses return steering oil to activate the reverse lock out spool. if there is not enough pressure this will cause strange problems with your trans. also those trans are known for clutching problem when the oil is cold due to the trans set up and cold oil will cause the clutch packs to drag and some tractors will even back up a little bit when the pedal is depressed. hope this helps

had that problem this winter, It woud do that until it warmed up (mine is a 930 or 970 i cant remember which), at the same time it developed a (presumedly) valve problem where it only gets reverse and one forward speed. If you get this figured out, please let me know what is going on. I took the valve off and i didnt find any obv. stuck valves. There was a little ball bearing stuck in the end of the selector but i dont know if it is supposed to be free or not....

Sounds like just a valve sticking up and engaging not enough or too many gears. Maybe one of the more knowledged experts will chime in for ya.
