third party image

This is my first try at posting a picture on the message board. If this works....it's a picture of the 1941 model VC that I purchased a few weeks ago. I purchased it from a farmer that bought it 20 years ago and used it for cultivating. It runs good but needs some carburator work. Hope this works...

I'd say you've got a nice little tractor there. And the chrome strips are both there, at least on the picture side, usually they are missing and impossible to find. I see where he had the rear wheels mounted very wide, there are a number of width variations you can get with those depending on how your cast iron hub is mounted on the axle (dish in or out) and how the rim is mounted on the cast hub (inside or outside). By the way, those rear rims are supposed to be black (like yours appear) and not silver like the later VA series. Email me, I have a little history section on the V series here (from a Case book) that I could copy and mail to you. I have removed the hide feature from my email name link.

Mike here is the one on ebay!! Don if you will notice the one on ebay does not have a muffler and has rear wheel weights. And Mikes' has a muffler and no wheel weights. Mike might be a good one to help in fixing up yours if the price is right.

Thats a pretty straight looking VC! Is that the one that was for sale on Ebay in Wallace, MI?

No, this one was in the classified ads in a local newspaper. But, it was purchased in the Wallace, MI area. I tried to find the one on Ebay, but I could not find it. Is it a current auction or is it done already? Do you remember what the bid was at?

The auction was over about 2 weeks ago. I believe it was listed for $500.00 and didn't get a bid. I don't know if this is the same tractor or not-just thought it was mighty coincidental.

I noticed that he had the tires mounted backwards. Did he drive it on the highway a lot? I heard that a lot of the Mennonites mount them that way because rear tires supposedly wear more slowly if ran backwards on pavement.
