we have a 1983 2294 and the power shift is new a year ago and it just started acting up. What it does is if you shift the power shift up into the 3rd power shift or if you bring it back down to the first power shift it sometimes doesn't engage properly. It pulls the engine down. If you move the lever back and forth in will properly work eventually. A mechanic said that there might be a piece of dirt in the line. and just needs to be worked out!! I really don't know maybe the the cable length is off. Just want some input. Thanks everyone

Check the selector switch for a crack, also could be a pressure switch down by the soleniods. Is it a 12 spd or a 24spd

The 94 Series Case Powershifts were a "whole new ballgame". The best thing to do is have the diagnostic tool and check the elec. part of powershift. Could be a bad switch at shift lever, control board, control board ground, or sticking solenoid valve. Hope you have a Good\Honest Mechanic in your area!

I had the same problem on a 2090. The C-3 valve was sticking. It is the second plug from the front of the control valve going up from the bottom. Remove the plug, spring, and spool. Polish the spool with emery cloth and make sure it moves freely in the valve. If it still sticks you might have to find a 9/16 ball and tack weld it to a bolt and push it up into the valve to clean up the bore. Install the spool, spring, and plug. Hopefully it will work better as mine did. Ten minute job! Good Luck DK
