After reading a few posting on the forum on this topic, I have a two questions before I do a brake job.

First, there is talk of having to remove or move the loader subframe to make room for removing the pivot bolt. My CK doesnt have a differential lock, so will I still have this issue with the loader frame. I know I'll find out when I disassemble the thing, but I'd like to know prior to taking it off (it's cold out there!)

Second, in a post this past October, Joe (Wa) said he was going to try larger balls. Did that work or did you end up purchasing the new ramps.

Finally, what is an "acceptable" thickness for a brake lining?

Thanks for your collective input

At my folks' Case dealership, we always torch notched the loader subframe plate where it contacts the axle housing. It only takes a strip about 3/8 or 1/2" deep, and 1-1/2" tall or so. Since the axle housing is cast, you don't have to worry about damaging it, and of course that part of the subframe/reservoir is just plate steel, and its a few inches away from the hollow part, so there's no worry about damaging the reservoir either...
Hope this helps...Dale
