Thanks, I don't think I will need the snubber as I have a oil filled pressure gauge that should stop any high speed fludder of the needle. Thanks again. Learned something new today...Tis a Good Day....Keith

A snubber is just a fitting with a small orfice to protect the gauge from pressure spikes. You should not need one for just testing system pressure. They are a good idea for long term applications.

Thanks Goldie, kinda thought it was some sort of restrictor, but wasn't sure. Manual calls for snubber to be in the line between pump and test gauge when testing system pressure.I have an adjustable flow valve, would that work as a snubber.
Thanks again Goldie...Keith

Keith -

Ya, the flow control will work for a snubber if you have it restricted enough - almost closed. Again, as mentioned previously, it's probably not necessary to use a snubber for testing. Snubbers only protect the life of the pressure guage. They don't have any effect on the rest of the hydraulic system when used like this.
