I have a 1940 DC-4 with no mounts to install or pulleys to power a generator. This tractor has lights and electric start but no generator. I have been told I will need the inline generator system which goes in between the mag and govenor housing. Would anybody know who to contact or where I should go to try to find this set up.

Some of the others with DCs may be better abled to answer this question but SCs (I have a '44) have the generator mounted on the left-front side of the engine and run on the fan belt. The generator pulley serves as the tension idler for the fan belt. Mounts would not be real apparent if the hardware has been removed. There are two threaded holes on the SC block at rear of the generator and a "scissor" bracket at the front to adjust the belt tension.
