I am putting a straight pipe on my 2470, and was just wonderin what i should do w/ the aspirator tube? Can I plug it, or will doing this make the air cleaner plug alot? Is there such a thing as a straight pipe w/ a hookup for the aspirator tube? Also was just wonderin if any one has ever done this, and if so how loud was the tractor? -Wide Open

I put one on my 2470 last spring, bought it from elmer haug at centralia, ks. I don"t notice any greater sound level in the cab, but you do outside. Sounds nicer at idle, too. The pyrometer runs 100 degrees cooler with the srtaight pipe. And mine is covered with surface rust, also.

Take the tube out of the old muffler and drill a hole to fit in the lower or bottom of the straight pipe and it will work the same.

I have a straight pipe on my 1370,it does have the aspirator hookup, it is made by Thomure Mfg in Missouri. If you dont use the aspirator it can fill the filter sooner especially in a lot of dirt. This tractor is louder than before, but it still isn't bad, sometimes I run with the door open just so I can listen to it bark. The only thing I wish I would have done was get a stainless pipe from Thomure instead of one painted black, the black paint did not last very long & now it's all rust, I have a stainless one on a 930 Case & all it has done was turn color slightly just above the hood. Stainless is more expensive but will last a lot longer.
