GOT A CASE 580C.
THE BACKHOE SETTLES REALLY FAST. DOES ANY ONE KNOW IF A REBUILD KIT FIXES THIS PROBLEM? I'VE HEARD THAT SOME VAVLES DON'T SETTLE AT ALL WHILE OTHERS DO.

IS THERE A GOOD SITE ONLINE WHERE I CAN GET HYDRAULIC PARTS INSTEAD OF MY DEALER?

Before tearing into a cylinder or valve you should try to determine where the problem is. Does that particular cylinder leak both directions? Has a boom cylinder been dented or bent by one of the stabilizers. If you can cap off the cylinder in the faulty circuit and then let weight on it and see if it still leaks down you might tell if the problem is in the valve or the cylinder. Each circuit [except the stabilizers] has a circuit relief valve that can go bad and a check valve under the relief valve.

Generally speaking, there is no rebuilding the valves. The actually hydraulic sealing is done by close metal to metal contact of the spool and valve bore, not seals. Only purpose of the spool seal is to keep the oil from leaking to the outside. If a valve was worn so bad that cylinders won't stay in place, it's usually not repairable. Only exception is when the valve has circuit relief valves plugged into it, and they are doing the leaking. As the other guy mentioned, the problem is usually the packings in the cylinders.

Repacking the cylinders is probably the place to start. Click the link below for a seal kit application chart.
