Okay ive done all the maitnence thats required for the Case (I hope)I just recieve so that i can get it back up and running, but now there is no spark and im almost positive it's becuase the previous owner really messed up the wiring on the tractor's kill switch. Im just curious if someone could describe or draw me a diagram of how the kill switch was wired from the mag to the switch and how it was grounded out.

thanks
Matt

I found that one of the wires inside my mag was touching the body of the mag... rotated it away from the side and the fire was back!

Disconnect the kill switch wire from the magneto and see if you have spark. I still no spark, your problem is elsewhere than the switch. Not really much wiring to mess up. Just a single wire going to a switch that grounds to the tractor. Can accomplish the same thing by touching a bare wire from the magneto kill switch terminal to anywhere on the tractor.

The kill wire (1-wire) comes out through a hole in the magneto cap. The hole is on the bottom side. I think the switch just grounds to the dash to kill the spark. I think John Saeli may sell them (jsaeli@rochester.rr.com). I bought a 2-post Echlin 6V./12V. switch at NAPA that looks really close to the original. If interested, email me and I will give you a link to a web site that has a wiring diagram.
