Can someone give me some advice on what to look for when I remove pto housing To investigate the power shift park not working. Was told it was a "shift dog thing" that moves park gear??? Make any sense?? Any help appreciated

not sure but i think the later 70's were similiar to the 90's. on my 2390 i had no park. when i had to open up the rearend to replace all the brake & diff linings i fixed the park. mine broke the roller shaft. it updates to a bigger dia shaft. it is little tricky to set right with a feeler gauge between cam follower and arm. might have to use different dia cam followers to get right. not sure if you can do it all with pig in rearend. a thought, you might be able to use a line lock valve in the brake lines for a momentary park brake. make sure you get all broken parts out.

few final thoughts
get service & part manual
ask local case dealer
if you have to take reaend apart, look at the linings and replace now if questionable, make it a one time repair.

did you do repairs through pto housing. It seems like quite a reach to the front of the axel. The roller engages park pawl??

Park lok can be properly replaced from rear after PTO hsg. is removed. You'll get a heavier roller & pin, and carrier. No big deal, no adjustment necessary. Feeler guage???

Yes feeler guage.
i believe it is between the roller and the pawl. I had to turn my roller down. they made i believe 3 different sizes rollers. a case dealer mechanic helped me who has done hundreds of these repairs. mabe you can just slap one in and go. me, do it right the first time so there is no second time.
