On the farm that i work at we have a few David Brown Tractors. The 1200 that we have we had just started it for the first time this year. My uncle started it and it was low on water so he added some, then he added some oil for the steering and it started to slightly bog down. My uncle went away, and came back to find the tractor turned off. He went to start it and now the engine is locked up and wont turn for nothing. Whether its pulling it with another tractor, or trying the starter, it dont move.

I need help

PLZ help me we need this tractor back in action

If you decide that it isnot economically feasible
to fix the DB 1200, send me an e-mail. I doubt
due to the distance i would be able to afford the
cost of transportation, but like to try.
Thanks

Check the oil to see if it is over full. Anti-freeze in the oil is bad news especially on aluminum bearings. I had a 2.5 Chevy 4 cyl that seized up and stopped. I had to loosen all the crankshaft bearings to be able to turn it with a bar in the flywheel. If that is your problem, you will be lucky to save the crank.

If I were you, I'd take all the injectors out to determine if you have water in the cylinders. Since you have started it for the first time this year, there's a good chance that you didn't have good enough anti-freeze in it last winter and it could have frozen and cracked a head or cylinder/liner. Good luck with it.

Try contacting Elmer on Case board. He may be able to help.
