Is there anyone selling radiator cores? Prices? Everytime I pull mine out to repair it I end up with more leaks. Has anyone tried StopLeak in a system this big (12 gallons)?

I have used (Water glass) for many years in leaky radiators. Dad used it in the old CC during WWII when you could not get a core. I have used in in every thing since. Will not work good in anything that does not have a water pump.

I had mine recored at a local radiator shop, but they had lots of experience in recoring for tractors. I gave $325 for my core, including the gasket material, and I assembled it myself.

Now, before I did this, I went through three used radiator cores, before I got tired of disassembling and reassembling the radiator, and got smart enough to just do it right and be done with it.

You might check with someone like Don Livingston to see if he has one, or at least get pointed in the right direction.

I believe the core is the same as LA so you might find a considerably newer used one, the complete rad doesn't fit of course, just the core. There's a product called Iron Tite that is supposed to be effective on big capacity systems, but I've not used it on a real bad radiator.

Yes, the cores are interchangable between an L and LA. Matter of fact, when the radiator shop ordered my core, they had to order it as an LA core. So, finding one may be easier it you did your shopping that way.

Don't know if the Tractor Parts link on the left would show an LA core or not... worth a look...
