Does anyone know the seal size/make etc for replacing the seal between transmission and brake shaft area for a VAC Case with disk brakes? I have one leaking need help finding right seal before I tear into it....also tips on how much trouble it is to replace them would be appreciated. I know in previous posts some have been replaced; and I'm hoping to get some idea as to seal number and make...Thanks.

M5G:

PAul F. compiled a seal chart that I keep on my website. It shows the seals as VT3465, crossing to a new number of A30501, which is the Chicago Rawhide (CR) number 22446, which is the National number 450316, which he shows a price paid of $8.51.

You should be able to get them at NAPA using those numbers. BTW, at NAPA, they have a seal book which lists a bunch of the CASE numbers. That helped when I rebuilt my VAC.

On the seals, the differential quills can be removed so you can service the seal. You might have to jiggle a rear wheel to make the differential climb into position when you reinstall the quill, but that should not be a problem. Or, you can use a slide hammer with a screw tip and yank them out and tap the news into place.
