Still having problems on 2390 (14,000 HRS) with hydraulics failing to respond unless we dump the clutch or shift into 3rd pwr shift. We have had dealership replace hyd. pump, control valve springs, cleaned suction screen, replaced power shift clutches as needed and changed clutch spools. Steering is ok, brakes work fine. 3 pt hitch and remotes are the trouble. Fluid and filters have been changed each time.

I should also mention that when we let up on the clutch, hydraulic functions seem normal. How do we diagnose a broken feeder tube, or cracked housing? What is a carrier? Dealer and company engineers now suggest we use a clutch isolation tool to determine---what, I don't know? I am confused what we are looking for with this tool.

Best way to check C1 would be to remove RPS valve and blow into C1 feeder tube with a rubber tipped air gun. You should have a positive seal, no leakage, air "deadheaded". Find someone locally that KNOWS CASE TRACTOR REPAIR, obviously not the dealer or their engineers that you are currently working with.

On dad"s 970, the oil distributer hub was shot. Also, the unit that has the three steel rings was badly worn. Same deal, dump the clutch and the three point and hydraulics would work.

Did you replace the hydralic pump or the charge pump in the belly? It could be the charge pump if that wasn't replaced.
