A 1948 Case thresher size 22x36 will be auctioned off at Faribault, Mn by Schrader Auction Service. It has been stored inside ever since it was new and has never been set up, it still has the wooden crates of parts wired to the top of the machine. It will be sold at noon on Dec. 10th. Click on the link below and then click on UPCOMING AUCTIONS, and then click on VIEW OTHER NEWSLETTERS, and pick the Dec. 10th one. You can call the auctioneer at 507-334-4337

Several years ago when they had the Case Collectors club Summer show in Hastings, MN they had the unit on display there. Never had a bundle through it. Heard the story behind it but wasn't paying too much attention. Spent too much time looking at the tractors rather than the threshing machine. As a kid growing up on a farm threshing was never one of my favorite jobs. Hated shocking grain with a passion!

At one time there was a write up in one of the state papers here in wisconsin about that machine. I doubt if I keep the paper around. I might try and see if the 2 paper it may have been in have searchable archives online. The 2 papers it would have been in are Agri- veiw and The Country Today.

I thought the machine that the write up in the paper was about was still in the orginal crates and wasnt put together and was donated to a club? Anybody knows for sure?? Also did anybody find out what it sold for?

NICE! Anybody on this board going? I'd be interested, just out of curiosity, what those sold for when new in 1948 and what this one goes for at the auction.

I would assume that this would be one of the last threshers Case manufactured as combines were becoming popular after the war. How about it, old guys? Any info as I am just a kid born in 1962!:^)

CASE built their last Thresher in '52 or '53.
