I have a Problem with my 1070. I was running it on a baler and it would stall out after it comes under heavy load. However under no load it won't shut off. It has a small oil leak but I filled it before I started and only did 2 1/2 rounds on a 20 acre field.

Good advise from both folks.Would just add you need floor jack -you need to make guides by cutting off heads of some spare bolts you have5 or 6 in long an if i remember you dont need to completely remove front bolts on drawbar support. Just let it pivot on them an let it rest on floor. Long time since i did it also. Two man job but really pretty easy.

I have just done my 970 U should check your apply pressure before any disassmbly .It sounds as your clutch is slipping under load and has warped the plates which will overcome the brake when disengaged. I have a case service manual, much better than I&T. Post back as u have questions or I could call. Tom

Does the PTO work ok when you engage it with the lever?

Not shutting off is a indicator of a shear pin broken in the brake assembly. Afternoon job. Drain the Oil pull the back cover partially dissassemble the clutch and repair. (Get a IT or similiar shop manual before attempting). The brake is spring applied and hydraulic pressure releases it.

If you engaged the PTO and it didn't stay engaged under load that indicates other problems. If you are lucky it is something easy like the clutch pak. You will have this apart for the brake anyway. Your hydraulic leak makes me think it might be something more sinister. Where is the leak at? Figure on putting in new plates they are inexpensive. OEM lists 6 plates and most times when rebuilding tech's put in 7. I know I took out 7 and put that many back.

It has been about 15 years since I did this job so the gray matter is getting a little fuzzy on this subject. Maybe someone who has done this more recently will weigh in.
