I have a 1962 Case 440(430 with a loader, power steering, etc). The torque tube oil overheats and the 3 point won't move until it cools down. I have'nt run into this problem until just recently while using the loader for a couple of hours with a 5 foot brush hog hanging off of the 3 point hitch. I have cleaned the torque tube oil filter and the 2 breathers and put in new fluid but the overheating persists. I'm using tractor hydraulic fluid like the rest of the hydraulics, should I be using another type of oil? Any information concerning this problem would be greatly appreciated.

If you would like to talk to a CASE GURUE I have a name and number.
These guys truly have the answers for your type of questions.
Email me if so needed.
But all in all it sounds like you may be restricting your oil flow henceforth creating too much friction. Making the oil over heat.

It could be the brush hog is too heavy causing the hydraulic system to have to constantly raise the three point as it sags.
