Case 530 C/K Oil Leak

I have a 1966 (I think) 530 C/K loader/backhoe which has developed a oil leak. It appears to be coming from between the engine and transmission. The tractor has a 159 cu in gas engine and a torque converter transmission. I am quite certain that it is leaking transmission fluid ( case TCH oil ) and not engine oil.

My question is, is it possible to repair this leak without seperating the engine / trans. I only use the tractor around my own home and probably go thru about 10 gals of fluid a year. Thanks

Dick,

Did you ever get this oil leak resolved? I am experiencing the same problem and any help troubleshooting and finding parts is appreciated.

Thanks Pat

Sounds like the oil pump for the clutch is not working. Disconnect the line to the gauge and start up the tractor it should put out quite a bit of oil. If not, the key broke on the pump shaft. Mine cost 79 cents to fix but alot of time went into fixing the problem.

The pin wrench is great for the cylinders. Also Harbor Fraight has a 20 dollar 3/4 in socket drive with sockets.

If you slide the oil seal off the break shafts, they will not be easy to get back on. The seal is grabed by the relief cut in the steel shaft and will tear. I use a thin piece of plastic to cover the shat then slid on the bearing then the outer steel plate with the new seal. Once the plate is on slide off the plastic and viola no torn seal.

By the way, I have the manuals for my CASE 530CK and Front loader/back hoe.

I have a 530CK loader and have the same thing, but
I am leaking oil. If it is oil, then it could be
an engine leaky rear bearing seal which can be replaced by dropping the oil pan. I am trying to find a good place to get used parts. Do you know of any?

Replace oil pan gasket and lower torqe tube gasket this can be done with out seperating the engine and trans.

Larry,
I have already replaced the oil pan gasket. I am quite sure that it is leaking transmission fluid because the engine uses very little oil. I used the tractor quite a bit this year and only had to add 1 qt. of motor oil. The transmission fluid is a different story. The leak appears to be where the engine bolts to the transmission and leaves a small puddle wherever you use the tractor. Can you give me a little more info on what this lower torqe tube gasket is all about and how you go about replacing it ? Thanks
