I have a hypothetical question. Say you have a 1030 diesel that has a broken block. If you go to a case dealer (ok ok case ih dealer) and ask for a replacement block, what will they tell you? I am trying to get proof that a 451 0r a 504 motor is what the "company" says is the factory replacement. Any help is greatly appreciated

They will most likely tell you it's no longer available. (Case has long had a policy of guaranteeing parts availability for 20 years.)
Your best bet is to find a block in a salvage yard.

Well... ok but what I am really after is some kind of proof that would allow me to run a 70 series motor in a 30 series chassis, this would be a pulling tractor only.

Do you want to see a few pics of a 1030 with a 504 from a 2390 or 2590?

Hey Roger,
Could you send me some pics of the tractor too. We have a 1032 that would look good with a healthy 504 under the hood. Thanks

Sure would! What did you do about the space issue under the hood? I know of one in indiana that had the hood & intrument panel widened, it looked stock. E-mail me when you can
