It is a nice tractor. Now gas compared to diesel does not have near the push but many older tractors were run on gas at one time. Especially in the colder climates gas was perfered. The smaller tractors like the 420C are actually preferred by many and for a number of reasons. 1) They are small hence you do not need near as large a trailer to move it. 2) Small is not that much of a deteriment, we use an IH TD9 that was built in 1947 and compared to my HD9's it is puny but it can get a lot of work done and will get into areas where the bigger one will cause a lot of damage or will not fit at all. We built two dams with it in the trees and did not have to take any trees out which is good thing for cattle, and a drought conditions. 3) You have less weight, so that means you will damage concrete and other surfaces less. 4) They cost a lot less to opperate per hour in terms of fuel etc. 5) The weight of all the parts are less so you can get buy with having to have a lot of heavy lift equipment when you have to work on them. The biggest downer about the machine is that it is gas. As long as the under carriage, rails and finals, and the transmission are in good shape, the price is fair then it should be a be a good tractor. You can get a lot of work done with it and make some money on the side if you are so inclined.
