I have an old dozer that I think is a AC. I could use info on this tractor. I'm thinking of selling it. It has a detroit engine that runs good. The serial # HD9B-377. Any help would be nice. Thanks.

The tractor is an HD9B it was built by allis Chalmers It was built from 1950 to 1955. There were approximately 5859 of them built, Yours was produced in 1951. You have a very early model. The engine was by detroit and it should have a serial number that begins with and RC. The engine is a Detroit 4 71 4 cylinders 71 cuid. You should have a constant mesh transmission with 6 forward and three reverse. You truck frame will consist of 6 rollers with track pads being between 16-22". Your blade assembly could be by a number of vendors to including baker, garwood caraco (SP) and other.

I have two of the machines. HD9b and and HD9x which is very rare. I can just about tell you anything you want to know about. I really like them.

They are great machines

Check out www.ibdozing.com In the show n tell section you will find Ibdozing projects section you will see my two machine.

I have the full color marketing brochure for this machine.

One is being full rebuilt and is just about done. The final drive on the right side is just about done and the new rail will be on the machine. The hd9x the motor is rebuilt and the transmission is waiting for pickup in Idaho.

Send some pics.
