The tracks are in SERIOUS need of adjustment.
Problem is , the adjusters are FROZEN....
Even CHERRY RED and a come-along will not budge them. One track has already spit itself off....

Any ideas on how to free them up ?
Or, do I unbolt the adj from the front Idler wheel and fab a spacer to make up the difference between the adj and Idler wheel bracket and then install longer bolts ????

Hey Mike I would go with a new one like SteveB said there not terribly expensive, I have messed with these things for days till the owner finally agreed that it wasn't coming loose and let me put a new one on, even rigged up my porta-power on one pumping high pressure hyd. oil into it finally split the barrell from too much pressure.

Same thing on my 350 track adjuster. I welded pipe on the back of the adjusters pipe that rides inside the spring, just enough on there so I could slip it back on, then use spacer up front at idler. You cant adjust it perfectly, of course, but it never gets any worse either. In trying to free mine, I let the grease out of the adjuster & pushed track against a tree-nothing gave! The only fix is a new adjuster.

Mike,

Had the same problem with a 450. Wrap a heavy chain around the track length wise by jacking it up. Put the biggest hydraulic cylinder you have on top of the track and hook the ends of the chain to the cyclinder. Hook up the cylinder to a tractor and stand back, something could pop. I have used this method several times with great success. Good luck and let me how it turns out.
