I'VE GONE THRU BOTH FINAL DRIVES ON MY CRAWLER, BUT WHEN I REPLACED THE CLUTCH DISK I HAD THEY MADE FROM A PLACE IN WISCONSIN. AFTER 75 HOURS OF WORK THE CENTER SPLINE ON THE CLUTCH DISK ARE BREAKING OFF. THIS HAPPENED 2 TIMES NOW. AM I BETTER OFF USING DISK FROM JOHN DEERE? WERE IS A GOOD SOURE TO BUY THEM? ANY INFO WILL BE APPRECIATED.

The disks are avalable from Deere, but let's face it Deere really doesn't make them. They mark up the price to almost double but that is all. I found mine for my model 40 at an industrial brake and clutch shop. They are the suppliers for big heavy equipment and drive lines in steel mills. He had to order them in but if memory serves they were about $18 USD each.

Well anything is possible.

I took the disk that was in the machine and had the jobber measure and match it. If memeory serves, they were fiber in the machine, not metalic.

There could be the possibility that some one had replaced them with the same. I have only 40 hours on the crawler. I have done some grading with it and have taken it to some antique tractor pulls. Either I stall the engine or the tracks keep turning. Apart from that, no problems yet.
