Is there a place to purchase an aftermarket seat for this backhoe or do I need to go to Deere? Thanks, Jim

Jeff, My 510C is a 1988. I just bought it about a month ago. My friend has an '87 510B that I have used over the years and it is a GREAT machine. I use it mostly for stump and rock removal around my property. It is amazing the strength it has and what it will dig out if you take your time. Mine and his has 4WD drive which I wanted since I also use it for top soil removal/replacement as well as snow removal. His as an aftermarket "thumb" which works great in lifting up rocks and stumps. The one I bought does not have the thumb but I am seriously considering having one installed. Hope this helps. Email me if you have any other questions. Last comment - make sure it is "John Deere" on the side! Jim

thanks for the comments jim....I was looking at a 410C '89model but 2wd. Had the 4x1 bucket and extendahoe,....but I have finally decided to go with a 4wd unit I am looking at maybe a 310 series as I want to be able to tow it with a total gross weight of less than 20K. I think the 510 and 410 may weigh too much! I also have a possibility of getting a JCB with everything but the 4x1 loader bucket. I hear from many that the JCB has the BEST digging power. I dunno??? thanks for the comeback jeff
